Who Ya Gonna Call?
This just in. (To me). Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson have signed on to do a third Ghostbusters movie which is “in development”. I’ve seen confirmation of this from two sources, People and the BBC. Writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky who brought The Office to TV in the US are reportedly working on the storyline. No word on whether Ivan Reitman, director of the first two films, will be brought on to do the third. It’ll most likely be a year or two before we see any material coming from Columbia Pictures, who still has yet to admit to any third movie being made. I’m wondering if we are going to see Annie Potter as Janine and Rick Moranis as Lewis again and what about Sigourney Weaver? No word on any of them yet. I’ll just have to keep up with the news surrounding the production of the rumored third movie.
“There is no Dana, only ZUUL!” I wonder how much more tricked out they can make Ecto-1? I think they can do without making any more national monuments walk around though. Ghostbusters 3!!
I loved both Ghostbusters movies and I was a huge fan of the cartoon series and you know I had just about every single GB toy that ever came out. Haha. I’m very excited to see what they will do with all the new technology and special effects that are available for movies.
Also, Vivendi/Universal games is working on a Ghostbusters video game that will be coming to a PC near you in the foreseeable future. The game will include the voices of the entire original cast. Coincidence that the cast is reuniting for the game and ‘rumors’ abound regarding the new movie? I think not! I’ll have to keep any eye out for news as it comes along!
